Who Can Have Breast Repair?

Risks of Breast Repair

How is Breast Repair Performed?
Breast repair requires specialization and should be performed by plastic and aesthetic surgeons. In the first meeting with the patients, it should be shared what kind of repair will be done in place of the breast. The treatment method is determined according to the patient’s psychology and general condition, and the treatment method using prosthesis or the patient’s own tissue is chosen. Breast repair, which is usually performed in several surgeries, is performed under general anesthesia in the first stage and local anesthesia in the other stages.
Breast repair using prosthesis is simple and short compared to other methods. Breast repair with own tissue is more complex and requires more surgical experience. In case of repair of a single breast, augmentation, reduction and lifting procedures can be applied to the other breast in order to make it equal to the other breast.
After Breast Repair Surgery
Depending on your postoperative condition, you can be discharged within two to five days. Drains are placed to prevent fluid accumulation and these drains are removed within two weeks. Removal of the stitches takes seven to ten days. You should follow your surgeon’s advice during the healing process.
You should avoid heavy exercise for about four to five weeks and prevent your breasts from being hit. It may take approximately six weeks to return to your normal life.
