What is Nose Tip Aesthetics?

Even if there are no deformities in the structure of the nose or even a hump, issues with the nasal tip can still disrupt the aesthetic appearance. Nasal tip aesthetics, which is part of rhinoplasty surgeries, is a procedure aimed at correcting problems such as a drooping or wide nasal tip, without affecting the overall structure of the nose.

In nasal tip aesthetics, there is no intervention in the bone or cartilage structure of the nose; only adjustments are made to correct the shape of the nasal tip. For this reason, it is a simpler and quicker procedure compared to other aesthetic surgeries.

Nose aesthetics is a complex operation aimed at correcting congenital or trauma-induced deformities in the nose. The final results of nose aesthetics may take between 6 – 12 months to fully manifest. The structure of the nasal tissues, the size of the nose, or the existing problem all impact the healing process. Even a small operation can lead to significant results and changes, so it is crucial that it is performed by expert surgeons. Additionally, to ensure a natural aesthetic appearance, it is important that the procedure is carried out by skilled specialists to avoid an unnatural outcome.

Who Can Undergo Nose Tip Aesthetics?

Nose tip aesthetics can be performed on individuals who have completed their physical development and are psychologically healthy. Physical development typically finishes between the ages of 16 and 18, but in some cases, earlier intervention may be considered if necessary. The procedure is suitable for individuals who have completed their bone growth.

It is applicable for individuals with drooping nasal tips, asymmetric noses, or a wide nasal tip. For those with a bumpy nose, different aesthetic surgical procedures may be recommended.

Before Nose Tip Aesthetics

Before undergoing nose tip aesthetics, a physical examination is conducted to assess the individual’s nose. Photos of the nose are taken from various angles, and based on the patient’s expectations and recommendations, the most suitable tip design is created. A surgery date is then scheduled.

Before surgery, patients are advised to discontinue the use of blood-thinning medications and herbal teas. Smoking should also be avoided, and any medications being taken should be disclosed to the doctor.

Nose aesthetics surgery is typically performed under general anesthesia. Small adjustments may be made under local anesthesia. The operation generally lasts about 2 hours.

Another common reason for nose aesthetics is when a person is dissatisfied with the appearance of their nose and desires a different nasal look.

Issues such as crooked or protruding nasal bones, cartilage structure irregularities, asymmetric appearance, or an overly large nose are among the reasons that necessitate nose aesthetics.

How is Nose Tip Aesthetics Performed?

Nose tip aesthetics is typically performed using a closed technique, meaning there are no visible external stitches or scars. The procedure is usually done under local anesthesia, though general anesthesia can also be used. If necessary, splints or silicone bands may be applied after the surgery.

The surgery usually takes between 30 to 60 minutes to complete.

Post-Operative Care for Nose Tip Aesthetics

Patients are typically discharged the same day after the surgery. Swelling and bruising are rare but may occur. Applying cold compresses and keeping the head elevated can help speed up the recovery process. Protective bands and splints are removed after one week. Although noticeable improvements are often seen within 3 months, complete healing may take between 6 to 12 months.

After the surgery, it is recommended that you avoid standing up for the first 4 to 6 hours. Only liquid food intake is advised during the initial period. To prevent bleeding, use a high pillow, avoid blowing your nose for the first 15 days, and do not allow water to enter the nose. It is also important to refrain from high-intensity sports activities.
